§ 2-28. Election of council members.

(a)

Newly elected officers shall not be qualified pursuant to S.C. Code, § 5-15-120, until at least forty-eight (48) hours after the closing of the polls.

(b)

The newly elected officers shall take office at the first regularly scheduled meeting following certification of election.

(c)

In case the results of the election are contested, the incumbent who fills that contested office shall hold over until the contest is finally determined. (5-15-120)
