§ 13-1. Parking of junk vehicles or other unsightly items.

(a)

It shall be unlawful for any person to park junk cars or any similar items of junk or any other unsightly items within the corporate limits of the city. Such items are hereby declared to be a nuisance, to be abated pursuant to S.C. Code 1976, § 56-5-5810 et seq. No junk cars or any similar items of junk shall be left on any street within the corporate limits at any time during any night of the week. No garage work of any kind or nature shall be done on any vehicle by a garageman or mechanic unless the vehicle is within the buildings or grounds normally used for garage purposes.

(b)

Any person violating this section shall be subject to a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment of not more than thirty (30) days or both. Any items parked in violation of this section within the corporate limits of the city shall be removed within fifteen (15) days from the date of enactment of this section.
